Westview Explorers
Program Overview:
The Westview Explorers will enjoy the opportunity to learn about nature from being in nature. This courageous group of third grade students from Oak Grove-Bellemeade and Chimborazo Elementary Schools, will travel outside their urban environments to the open spaces of Westview on the James in order to discover more about themselves and their surroundings. The Explorers curriculum will include hands-on science SOL instruction, time for recreation, and activities that focus on respect for one another and the environment. This exciting new program will meet monthly on Saturdays throughout the school year. Contact: Bob Argabright, 288-3287.
- Sign up to be an Explorer Group Captain or Instructor: One Saturday per month from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Answer questions
- Shepherd students
- Reinforce character principles
- Lead science or environmental experiences
- Sign up to be a Meal Provider: One Saturday per month from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
