Micah Initiative
Micah Initiative opportunities are taking place. The City-Wide Micah Initiative Kick Off takes place Thursday, September 16 at 8:45 am at Richmond Hill, 2309 East Grace Street 23223. After the keynote address presented by RPS Superintendent Dr. Yvonne W. Brandon, the Virginia Mentoring Partnership will offer training sessions for brand new and returning volunteers.
As the new school year begins at Trinity’s Micah partner school Oak Grove – Bellemeade Elementary, 2200 Ingram avenue, Richmond 23224, prayerfully consider becoming a mentor, tutor, classroom assistant, or lunch buddy. Now you have a long term opportunity to make a positive difference in the life of a child. Pray for our teachers and their students. Remember that when you help a child, you help a whole family.
Please contact Mary Hetzel, hetzelmary@comcast.net 282-5872 to register for September 16th, or Bob Argabright 310-1080 to get involved.
Our Fall Community Celebration Saturday takes place at Oak Grove on Saturday, October 16 from 10-3 pm.
Trinity’s Micah Initiative volunteers offer many thanks for the gracious donation of school supplies for every classroom teacher at Oak Grove Bellemeade. We are delighted to have Prayer Partners as well for each teacher.

Child Protection Training
We now have an online training option
Trinity wants to make sure that we continue to offer the safest and most supportive environment for our children and youth, as well as the many volunteers and staff that work with them. Our Child Protection Policy requires a background check and annual training of all staff and all who work with children and youth.
Since we now have training online, the classroom training opportunities will be limited. The offerings below are the only trainings for Sunday School teachers & helpers which have been scheduled. The idea is to get everyone trained in the fall.
Please make every effort to come to one of these scheduled times or do the training online. Child Protection Training Events will be:
Sunday, September 19 at 9:30 or 10:45 in Trinity Hall
Wednesday, September 22 at 6:30 p.m. (child care is available)
Please contact Leila Denton at 288-6057, ext 208, or ldenton@trinityumc.net if you have questions.
