FAQs:

Who can participate?
Youth in grades 6-12

Do acolytes need to be confirmed in the Methodist church?
No; confirmation is not a requirement to participate!

How often do acolytes serve?
Availability is requested on a monthly basis, so you can participate when your schedule permits! Most serve about once a month. Acolytes serve at the 11am traditional worship service, so it typically requires an hour -long commitment. Special church events such as Christmas and Easter may involve more frequent participation.

What if you don't typically attend the 11am service?
Many acolytes are not regular 11am attendees, but they attend that service when scheduled. It gives youth an opportunity to fully engage in the worship offerings at TUMC and learn even more.

Is training provided?
Yes! Acolytes will receive instruction and will begin with experienced acolytes who can assist and answer questions.
